Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative from Himalayan Dream Team will warmly greet you. After completing the necessary formalities, you will be transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Take this time to relax and recover from your journey.
In the evening, you’ll meet your tour leader for a detailed briefing about the exciting motorbike adventure ahead. You may also wish to explore the vibrant streets of Thamel, a lively neighborhood known for its shops, cafes, and cultural attractions.
Since the application for the Tibet visa takes at least three working days, we begin the visa process today. While the paperwork is underway, you’ll enjoy a guided tour of several UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. You will visit:
Pashupatinath Temple – The holiest Hindu temple in Nepal.
Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) – An ancient Buddhist stupa offering panoramic views of the city.
Boudhanath Stupa – One of the largest and most significant Buddhist monuments in the world.
Patan Durbar Square – A historic site filled with palaces, temples, and traditional Newari architecture.
After this cultural journey, you’ll have the evening free to relax and get ready for the upcoming motorbike adventure.
Today, you will visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a beautifully preserved medieval city known for its intricately carved temples, royal courtyards, and vibrant public squares. Stroll through its ancient streets and admire the authentic Newari architecture that reflects the city’s rich cultural heritage.
After the tour, you will return to Kathmandu to make the final preparations for your motorbike journey, including checking the bike and gear.
The great adventure begins today! After receiving your Tibet visa, the motorbike journey officially starts as you leave behind the bustling streets of Kathmandu. The route takes you through winding mountain roads, lush green hills, and remote villages. You’ll first follow the Prithvi Highway before turning towards the Kerung border.
This is a long and challenging ride, passing through Nuwakot, Dhunche, and the scenic Langtang National Park. After a full day of adventure, you’ll arrive in Syabrubesi, the last Nepalese town before the Tibetan border.
After breakfast, you’ll ride 18 km to the Nepal-Tibet border at Rasuwagadhi, where you’ll complete the necessary immigration and customs formalities. Once cleared, you’ll cross into Tibet and continue riding for another 24 km to reach Kerung, your first stop on the Tibetan plateau.
Here, you’ll immediately experience the unique Tibetan culture and stunning mountain landscapes. Since proper acclimatization is essential at high altitudes, the remainder of the day is reserved for adjusting to the thinner air and mountainous environment.
Today, you’ll journey deep into the heart of the Tibetan plateau. The landscapes become vast and surreal, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including the towering peaks of Cho Oyu (8,201 m) and Shishapangma (8,012 m).
The high altitude and rugged terrain make this ride physically demanding, but the reward is unforgettable—upon reaching Tingri, you’ll catch your first stunning glimpse of Mount Everest (8,848 m) rising above the horizon.
Today is one of the major highlights of the entire journey! You’ll ride across the stunning Gawu La Pass (5,198 m), where you’ll be treated to a breathtaking panoramic view of five of the world’s highest peaks.
Upon arrival in Rongbuk, you’ll visit the Rongbuk Monastery, the highest monastery in the world, located at the base of Mount Everest.
From Rongbuk, you’ll board an electric bus to reach the Everest Base Camp viewpoint, as private vehicles are not permitted beyond this point. While direct access to the actual base camp is restricted, the viewpoint—just 1.5 km away—offers a spectacular, unobstructed view of Mount Everest.
Wake up early to witness a magical sunrise over Mount Everest. The golden light illuminating the summit is a breathtaking and unforgettable sight. After breakfast, you’ll ride back to Tingri, where you can spend the rest of the day relaxing and capturing the stunning Himalayan views.
Today, you’ll ride back to Kerung, passing through the vast Tibetan landscapes, serene mountain lakes, and traditional Tibetan villages. Although the journey is long, the breathtaking scenery makes it an unforgettable part of the adventure. Upon arrival, you’ll have time to explore the local village and perhaps pick up some souvenirs.
After breakfast, you’ll ride back to the Nepal-Tibet border and complete the immigration formalities at Rasuwagadhi. From there, continue your scenic journey through the beautiful mountains and valleys as you make your way back to Kathmandu.
Upon arrival in the capital, enjoy a special farewell dinner to celebrate the completion of this incredible adventure.
After an epic motorbike adventure through Nepal and Tibet, it's time to say goodbye. A representative from Himalayan Dream Team will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport for your return flight.
