Pikey Peak Trek

A staff member of Himalayan Dream Team will pick you up at the international airport for your transfer to the hotel. As a welcome you will have a typical Nepalese dinner with some of the staff members, typical food coming up! And do not forget to try our typical Nepalese drink with great mood of cheers.

Today we start with the Kathmandu sightseeing tour and visit the 3 well known temples: Swayambhunath Stupa also known as the Monkey Temple, Boudhanath Stupa (where you can enjoy a fine lunch on one of the many roof terraces) and the most holy and impressive Pashupatinath Temple. All entree fees included! In the afternoon we return to your hotel in Kathmandu. 

Today we start our drive early in the morning to Dhap Bazaar. The path follows the Sunkoshi River which joins Tama Koshi River further ahead on our drive forming a large Koshi River until reaching Ghurmi. On the way we enjoy typical Nepali food and continue our zig zag way along the dense rhododendron forests.After 7 hours of long drive we will arrive at Dhap bazaar then will explore the local bazaar and observe the lifestyle of the inhabiting people.

Our first trekking day begins with adventurous dusty road leading us to Sigane. Today we will continue along a dusty road leading us to Sigane and further continue similar kind of off road trail to Jhapre. From here we have the view of the mountains residing in the northern region of the country. We can clearly see the Everest and Himalayan Views, gompas and stupas in the village. 

Today we hike up to Pikey Peak Base Camp. We walk on stone trail through pine and rhododendron forest. Relishing the view, we will continue our trek along a dusty road for some time and then start walking uphill until reaching Bhulbule. During our walk we also see grazing Yaks and Yak Cheese Factory with magnificent views of mountains

The day begins with a descent down through rhododendron forest on a beautiful zigzag trail. We can enjoy the panaromic view of the mountains like Mt. Everest , Number Chuli, Thamserku , Kangtega , Khatang , Kanchenjunga, Manaslu , Gaurishankar, Dorje Lakpa and Langtang. Capturing the beautiful views in our cameras, we will descend to Junbesi. Junbesi is one of the most beautiful village with buddhist monastery and farming lands.

Today our trail follows through old forest on a good path. We walk along the ridge up with occasional views of the mountains through the dense forest. The viewpoint is at 3,700m where there is a large communication pylon and solar panels then we descend to beautiful village of Phaplu.

After completion of short and sweet trekking today we fly back or drive back to Kathmandu as per availability of flight. There are no regular flights except in touristic season, normally we drive back to Kathmandu by Jeep.

The free day in Kathmandu either will be for leisure to rest or for perhaps some shopping before going home or explore any sights we missed during our first day in Kathmandu.
