The short trek van Phedi to Dhampus is also known as the first trekking day of the Mardi Himal tour, but it is in itself a wonderful and recently new opened trail to enjoy one of the finest panorama’s of the Annapurna Himalayan mountain range. It takes just a 3 hrs hike all the way up to really feel near the Himalaya’s. Passing Gurung settlements, dense forest, rice terraces and a thousand stone steps. That’s what it takes to get the reward for this beautiful sunset and sunrise the next morning!
Himalayandreamteam will pick you up at your hotel and we drive in 40 mins to Phedi. This is the starting point for this 2 day trek to Dhampus, a Gurung village and Village Development Committee in the Gandaki Zone, known for its spectacular views on the Annapurna mountain area and Mt. Machhapuchare (Fishtail, 6,993 meters). First we have to climb steep up for one hour over thousand stone steps to a small settlement where we have lunch. After we gradually walk up through sparse villages, farm terraces and dense forests. Small paths alongside the rice terraces and farms enables us meeting and talking to local inhabitants. After again stone steps await us the way up to Dhampus (1.770 meters) where we have to walk for half an hour alongside the spectacular panorama of the Himalaya’s to reach our hotel. Here we can enjoy the breathtaking sunset, meanwhile enjoying a lovely dinner. We can climb up to the ridge of the hills to feel even closer to the mountains and where we also can see the Fewa Lake at the other side. o/n in hotel +B
