Located in the rain-shadow area of the Annapurna region, this trek is perfect for families visiting during the monsoon season, with Mustang’s stunning desert landscapes and the sacred Muktinath Temple at its heart.

The journey begins with a cultural exploration of the vibrant city of Kathmandu and the ancient city of Bhaktapur, where your family will discover Nepal's rich history and architecture. You'll then travel to the serene city of Pokhara, nestled by a beautiful lake and surrounded by breathtaking Himalayan views, setting the tone for the adventure ahead.

The trek itself starts with a visit to Dhumba Lake, resting beneath the mighty Nilgiri Peak (7061m), before leading you through Marpha, a village famed for its apple orchards. Enjoy fresh apples, dried apples, and homemade jams while exploring the charming surroundings. Children will love meeting local kids and seeing yaks and horses along the way.

One of the highlights is a visit to the sacred Muktinath Temple, a holy site for both Hindus and Buddhists. Bathing in its 108 stone spouts is said to wash away sins, adding a spiritual element to this unique experience. Along the trail, your family will be immersed in the local culture, with Buddhist monasteries, prayer flags, and traditional Mani walls offering insight into the region's spiritual traditions.
