The Valley of Kathmandu is home to stunning hills that offer some of the best short trekking trails and hiking routes in Nepal . These hills provide an incredible visual treat. Apart from their majestic beauty, the peaceful environment makes these short escapes ideal for people who love nature, mountain views, and simple village life but do not want to go too far out of the city.

Additionally, if one does not have enough time or is looking for a simpler alternative to high-altitude trekking, hills surrounding about Kathmandu is perfect spot for overnight hikes or short treks. The experiences range from scenic view points to quaint villages and heavily woodland trails, serving a true experience of trekking near the city.

  • Chisapani Nagarkot Trek – a traditional route of two days described with local villages, ridge trekking paths and forests with remarkable sunrise sight.

This lesser-known treasure is located just to the south of the Langtang region’s highlands which are a convenient getaway from the Kathmandu Valley for anyone with 5 to 7 days to spare.
